Happy Chinese New Year from Kells!

Posted in  Company News by Olivia Duff 0 comments

The Spire of Lloyd is smiling over the town of Kells with a red glow at the moment to celebrate the visit of Ambassador Luo Linquan to Kells and Chinese New Year. The Chinese Ambassador arrived in Kells to a warm welcome on Thursday January 19th. The action packed day included a walk around the gardens of Headfort House where there are a significant number of Chinese trees planted which were sent over a century ago to the Marquis of Headfort as a gift from China. Headfort Golf Club followed with a Red Carpet reception at the 19th hole and all Chains of Office were fully executed at the Civic offices with a reception and presentation of a local food hamper to the Ambassador. It was such a reminder of what wonderful local produce we have in the area surrounding us. We are so proud to support local, traceable quality produce at the hotel where possible including Tom Doherty's suasages, Hogans Turkey and Ryans Farm Lamb to name but a few. I hope that the amabassador enjoyed Chef Orlaith's acclaimed Currant Cake!
